Getting Started Blogging - Streamline Your Blog

When you first start a new blog you are filled with the initial rush of a new idea and creation. You want to tell everyone and sign up for every social media site to ever exist. This is good, but you need to make sure that you streamline your blogging activities and not overexert yourself early on as you will find yourself strained by the unnecessary extra work you're putting into it. I have run several successful blogs and today I'm going to tell you the most streamlined way to run your blog.
  1. Set your website up, my personal favourite is GoDaddy, choose a solid domain that's easily remembered and unique.
  2. Streamline your site before your streamline your process, make sure that there are no dead links or missing images and the site looks clean and presentable.
  3. Have a timetable or plan for when YOU want to post. At first you may feel like you can post every day, but that isn't always going to be the case. Make sure that you allow yourself enough time to publish your posts and aren't going to miss deadlines.
  4. If you plan on using adverts on your blog, place at least one in a place that everyone visiting your site for the first time will see. I recommend adsense from Google for people who are just starting out in the blogging industry.
  5. Social Media, the key to success. The main social networks that you will be using are Facebook and Twitter but don't be afraid to branch out slightly into sites like Google+, Reddit and Youtube. Remember to remain consistently active, be it once an hour, a day or week. Don't be afraid to set up new accounts for each blog if you don't want to use your personal accounts to advertise and publicise your content on.
  6. Research. Read forums, other blogs, even books to gain the advantage in your niche, post on these forums and comment on posts to begin integrating into the community, the more you are around in the right places, the more you will be noticed.
  7. Guest Posting is an excellent way to get your name out there and with all the posting you've been doing surely a few people will have noticed you. Email other bloggers in your niche (There will be a post on this next week) and ask about guest posting on their blog. If they say yes then write the best post you can muster for this, if you impress people with your knowledge and writing style, people are sure to come flocking.
  8. Don't give up! This is the most important step I feel. Maintain consistency in all of the above and you will soon have a growing audience on your blog.#
Enjoy your blogging!Sykez
